The spread of dengue still remains at a dangerous level as 293 patients were reported from the 1st of this month up until today only from Colombo.
4 dengue related deaths have also been reported. Accordingly Chief Medical Officer of the Colombo Municipal council Dr Pradeep Kariyawasam stated that the public should be aware to combat the dengue menace. He also stated that a special programme will be held from the 8th of February to create awareness among the public to combat the dengue menace.
