The Ministry of Health says that 13,900 Dengue patients have been reported in the country so far this year.

Director of the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry, Dr. Paba Palihawadana said that the highest number of patients have been reported from Colombo district followed by the Gampaha district.

Taking the situation into consideration she said that a special programme will be launched next Saturday to examine schools and surrounding areas in the Colombo Municipality area to identify and remove places that are conducive for the breeding of Dengue mosquitoes.
