mayCOLOMBO (News 1st) – The National Dengue Control Unit says that 21 MOH divisions have been declared as Dengue High-Risk Zones.

It added that the number of dengue cases being reported from nine MOH divisions is on the rise.

Among them, Piliyandala, Harispattuwa, Ukuwela, Badulla, Kegalle and Mawanella health divisions are highlighted as high-risk zones.

Colombo recorded 143 dengue cases during the 43rd week of this year.

In addition, Colombo also recorded 14,937 dengue cases so far this year, compared to 7,296 cases during the same period in 2021.

According to the National Dengue Control Unit, the total number of dengue cases reported in Sri Lanka so far this year is 62,435 compared to 40,248 reported in 2021.
